Dorothy was born August 14, 1930, in Owosso, the daughter of Andrew and Zella (Bonsor) McKay.

She graduated from Dye High School in Flint, Michigan in the graduating class of 1948.

Dorothy enjoyed spending her time at home watching the Detroit Tigers or tending to her flowers in the garden. She also looked forward to playing weekly bridge games with close friends. Dorothy loved nothing more than being a mother to her three sons and truly was their biggest fan in all of their activities growing up. She always wanted the best for her three boys and was largely responsible for all three of them earning college degrees. Dorothy looked forward to family get-togethers and reminiscing on the good times.

She married the love of her life Donald Wesley McMillan in Flint at the Graham Methodist Church on May 14, 1949. Dorothy and Wes grew their loving family and had three sons, Michael, Gregory, and Chris McMillan. They were happily married for 67 years. Wes predeceased her on September 23, 2016.

Dorothy was a "stay-at-home" mom. She had a passion for wallpapering her home changing different rooms what seemed like every week. Her sons were her whole world and she would contribute to the family's income by ironing clothes and babysitting. Later in life Dorothy worked in records microfilming at the county courthouse for several years

Dorothy is survived by her two sons, Michael McMillan, and Greg (Sueann) McMillan; brothers, Dick McKay and David (Sara) McKay; daughter-in-law, Debbie McMillan; 8 grandchildren, Monique McMillan, Joshua McMillan, Brandi Harsh, Tyler McMillan, Tristan McMillan, Jason Johnson, Amoreena Paulsen, and Graham Johnson; 8 great-grandchildren -Braylen, Ellary, and Ainsley Laverty, Taylor, Porter, and Piper Harsh, Alec and Riley McMillan; and 1 great-great-granddaughter, Atalaya Harsh.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wesley McMillan; youngest son, Chris McMillan; older sister, Jean Gould; nephews, Bob Gould and Mickey McKay; and brothers, Roger McKay and Bill McKay.

In Lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to Heartland Hospice.
