Arnold Andrew Vrable, of Oakley
died peacefully at Pleasant View in Owosso on November 11, 2023, at the age of 85.
Arnold was born on November 30, 1937 in Maple Grove. The oldest of thirteen children to Andrew Vrable and Christine (Krupp) Vrable. He spent most of his life farming with his father, and then went on to continue his farming career both on his family farm, and at Farmer Peets where he was a shipping supervisor for 38 years. On September 26, 1959, he married Janette Farlow at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Maple Grove. Together they spent 64 years together.
Aside from being an avid farmer, Arnie enjoyed spending time with his family, the great outdoors, camping, fishing, hunting, and taking trips to Florida. He was known as "Grandpa Candy" to his grandchildren, as he always carried around sweet treats for his grandchildren to enjoy.
Arnie is survived by his wife of 64 years, Janette Vrable; children, Arnold Jr. (Michelle) Vrable, Kimberly (Warren) Harger, Tammy (Bruce) Stutler, Debra (Paul) Bitterman, and Michelle (Joe) Loos; grandchildren, Mallory (Nick) Lemanski, Whitney Vrable, Aubrey (Rob) Kovach, Brandy (Matt) Carrier, Brock (Allison) Harger, Brooke (Brad) Ostrander, Cody Stutler, Weston Stutler, Spencer Stutler, Tyler (Natalie) Bitterman, Christian (Shelby) Bitterman, Tiffany (Josh) Smecki, Halie (David) Yeager, Macey Loos; and 14 great-grandchildren; siblings, Sally (Frank) Riber, Janet (Don) amman, Jim (Ellie) Vrable, Joyce (Ron) Amman, Bob (Marlene) Vrable, Angie Angst, Roger (Lois) Vrable, Ralph (Marty) Vrable, Alice (Dave) Pappenhiemer, and Sheila (Phil) Gieskin. He is preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Hollenback, brother and sister in law, Carl (Yvonne) Vrable,
A visitation will take place on Wednesday, November 15, 2023 from 4:00pm till 7:00pm with a Rosary at 7:00pm, at McGeehan Funeral Home - Martin Chapel. A funeral mass will be held on Thursday, November 16, 2023 at 11:00am with visitation starting at 10:00am until the time of mass, at St. Peter Catholic Parish in Chesaning
