WIEDYK Geraldine Louise – of Clio, age 73, died Monday, September 25, 2023 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2023 at 11:00 AM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Pastor Darrell Bailey officiating. Cremation to follow. The family will receive visitors on Friday, September 29, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM and on Saturday from 9:00 AM until the time of service at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. Contributions can be made to the family for the Alzheimer’s Associations Memory walk: in honor of Gerri.
Geraldine was born February 6, 1950 in Battle Creek, Michigan to the late Robert and Arbella Ford. She grew up in Auburn, Michigan. On September 12, 1998 she married Donald Simota on Mackinac Island. Gerri was a woman of great class and beauty. She was a kind, caring person to all she knew with such a contagious smile and laugh. During her active years and before she was stricken with Alzheimer’s, she enjoyed many years of cooking/baking, classic cars, rescuing animals and putting others before herself.
Surviving are: husband, Donald Simota; children, Rodney (Lori) Wiedyk, Bernie Wiedyk, Sherry (Norman) DeWitt, Shelby Burts; grandchildren, Robin Long, Zachary (Elizabeth) DeWitt, Kaylee DeWitt; great grandchildren, Ralph Oestman, Lillian Oestman, River DeWitt, Hudson Quackenbush, Everleigh Quackenbush; siblings, Rosann (Scott) Withers, Ellen (Bruce) Bratschi, Brenda Sharp, James (Debbie) Sharp, Edith Sharp, Edward (Amy) Sharp; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Robbie Ford, Gary Sharp, Scott Sharp; grandmother, Emeline Pfundt; several nieces and nephews.
