After several years, our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, lost his life on November 23, 2022. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, December, 2, 2022 at Dodds Dumanois Funeral Home and Cremation Center, 901 Garland St., Flint, MI 48503. Family hours will be from 12 noon until time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Cremation will take place after the funeral service. Brother Dan Brown officiating. Jessie Foreman was born on October 19, 1948, in Yazoo City, Mississippi, to the union of McCalip and Willie Bell Forman. Jessie Foreman was preceded in death by his mother, Willie B. Forman; brothers, Robert Forman and Albert Forman; sisters, Dorothy Forman and Jerlean Harris. Jessie received an education in Muskegon, Michigan. Jessie continued his college education at Muskegon Community College, graduating with an Associates degree. On March 14, 1970, Jessie married Yvonne Long. Jessie worked for Meijer Thrifty Acres (Meijer) as a team member in the meat department in 1969. Jessie transitioned into management for many years. After forty years of service, Jessie retired from Meijer as a meat manager in 2009. Jessie was involved with several volunteer organizations during his retirement years. Jessie was very fond of one of those organizations, the Men of Tomorrow Organization, which focused on helping underprivileged boys.
Jessie loved his family very much and would do anything for them. He was a third-degree black belt in Tae Kwon Do Karate. Jessie loved to cook for family and friends. Jessie enjoyed spending time with family, practicing and teaching Tae Kwon Do Karate, volunteering in the Flint community, and helping underprivileged children. In addition, Jessie enjoyed regular Bible discussions with Jehovah’s Witnesses. Jessie was also known by family and close friends as “Jerry”.
Jessie leaves to cherish his precious memories; loving wife of 52 years, Yvonne; son, Jerry Jr. (Robyn) of Indianapolis, Indiana; daughter, Lanesha (Ne-Ne) (Albert) of Flushing, Michigan; son, David of Flint, Michigan; sisters, Dasie, Clara, Rosie, and Willie; brother, James (Patricia); grandchildren, Brooklynn, Kortlynn, Aliana, and Alberto (Berto); a host of nieces, nephews, in-laws, other family; and an infinite number of friends. |
