Jennifer Sue "Jenny" Givens - of Montrose, age 39, went to be with her lord and savior and her beloved brother on Thursday Sept. 9th. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, September 13, 2021 at Montrose United Methodist Church. Pastor Hal Phillips officiating. Burial in Montrose Township Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Sunday, September 12, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose, Michigan. In lieu of flowers, the family would ask for donations to be made in Jenny’s name to the Montrose Public Library.
Jenny was born July 8th 1982 in Flint Michigan to Sue and Darrell Givens. Jenny began her schooling at Montrose schools with her wonderful teachers, Miss Bickle and Mrs. C. During this time Jenny was able to participate in the special olympic’s at CMU. After Montrose Jenny attended the GISD/transition center with her teacher, Mrs. Motyle where she graduated in 2009. During her time there she met boyfriend David Morrissett who she continued to be with until her untimely passing. Jenny loved her family fiercely and always had a smile for everyone. She loved to help her Dad pick his garden every summer and help her mom and grandma cook in the kitchen. Her specialty was mashed potatoes. Jenny also loved crafts and had so much fun making her family and friends homemade cards and gifts. The family would also like to give a special “Thank you” to the wonderful doctors and nurses at the Cleveland Clinic who helped take care of Jenny for the last 20 years.
She is survived by her parents Sue and Darrell Givens; Sister Cindy (Scott) Vetter; her beloved Nephew and Niece, Michael and Hope Vetter; Grandmother, Wonda Hope; Uncles, Mark (Julie) Hope, Jim Givens; Aunt, Sandy Hope; Special Family Friend Lois and Gary Keeler and many loved cousins. She is preceded in death by her Brother, Kyle Givens; Grandfather, Wayne Hope; Uncle, Duke Hope; Aunts, Kay Hope and Jean Garrow.
