Robert "Bob" E. Keinath

Born: 10/12/1956
Died: 1/14/2025
Age: 68
Community: Millington, MI

Robert Eugene Keinath, loving husband of Janette (Vogts) Keinath, died on Tuesday, January 14, 2025, at age 68. He was born on October 12, 1956, in Saginaw, MI, to Ernest and Verna (Ill) Keinath. He graduated from Millington High School in Millington, MI in 1974. He met the love of his life, Janette, in his church's very own parking lot one Saturday in October, and then after a couple of years, and a 2200 mile courtship, they were married in Alva, OK, on September 4, 1983, for 41 years.

Bob, a kind, sweet, and quiet man of God, was raised on a family farm, and shortly after graduation from high school used his God-given abilities as a service technician for Bader Bros. John Deere in Birch Run, now Tri-County Equipment, his 49th year. He was also known as "Bob the Baler" man who had the patience and expertise to fix those temperamental balers, square or round, along with all makes, models of tractors and equipment, from two-cylinder to the present, including motors, combines, and even bed bug machines. Bob was an amazing man, as he could literally diagnose a problem over the phone, offer a solution so as to help a fellow farmer get his equipment going. He and his wife also owned the family farm.

Bob was a member of St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth, and until recently was a life-long member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Millington, where he served as an Elder, Usher, and Evangelism Board member. He went on his first mission trip in December of 2019, to the Hmong people in the mountains of Chang Mei, Thailand, as a missionary partner with his wife, where he helped prepare meals in a Thai kitchen for the students attending school from the village. In 2020, he and his wife visited Alaska, the fiftieth state in their travels.

Bob was a platelet donor. After worship on Sunday mornings, he would often make the pilgrimage to the Red Cross in Flint, and spend more than a couple of hours donating those precious "golden droplets" so others could have the gift of life.

Surviving is his dear wife, Janette; sons, John of Lubbock, TX, and Joel (Victoria) of Longview, TX; brother, Steven (Carol) Keinath of Midland; sister, Elaine (Mark) Burns of Westfield, IN; brother-in-law, Jack Geisenhaver of Millington, MI; as well as nieces and nephews. His parents; half-sister, Marlene Wilson; nephew, Mark Metro; sister, Evelyn Krause; and brother-in-law, Paul Krause preceded him in death.

Visitation will be at Hanlin Funeral Home in Millington on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at St. Lorenz Lutheran Church in Frankenmuth at 11:00 a.m.; visitation at church will begin at 10:00 a.m. and last until the time of service. Following the service, burial will follow in Millington Township Cemetery.

Those planning an expression of sympathy may wish to consider contributions to the Ark Encounter in Kentucky, or Mission in Christ Network (Rev. Dr. Fungchatou Lo), or a charity of one's choice.
