Myron (Jack) Manchester went home to be with his Lord on January 21st, 2021. He was born on September 14th, 1927, to Edith and Henry Manchester in Flint, MI. Jack went to Flint Central School. He joined the United States Air Force on November 24th, 1948, spent time in Germany, and has many stories. He was in the Air Force for 3 years and 9 months. He married Florence Hall on June 11, 1955. Jack started working at Fisher Body, Flint, in 1952, and retired January 1st, 1980. He served on the Flint Township Fire Department for thirteen years. They spent much time as a family vacationing around the country and camping with extended family. There were many nights spent around the fire at Covenant Hills Camp, sharing stories and laughing. Jack and Florence traveled through Europe, made two trips to Hawaii, and wintered in Lakeland, Florida. He was a lifetime member of the Free Methodist Church, and spent many years as a Head Usher. He is survived by three daughters, Brenda, Marie and Kathy.

Brenda is married to EJ Miller, and they have three daughters: Jennie and husband Dale Bigger; Kellie and husband Mark Orwig, and their children Margaret and Mark, Shannon and Mike German. Marie and husband Loren Huntley have two children: Kelly Grosskopf and her fiancée Frank Conklin, children Loren, Jasen, and Colten; Keith and wife Jacy Huntley and their children Esme and Desmond. Kathy Manchester and husband Jim Petersen together have four children: Allison Hartsell and husband Scott; Cody and wife Tess Streasick and their children Tanner True, Merrit Michael, and George Grey; John and wife Nicole Petersen and their children Addisen, Griffen and Westten; and Elin Petersen and her partner Justin Lang. Jack also leaves behind nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than can be counted.

The family would like to thank Stephanie Landers who lovingly looked after their father for the last three years of his life, and Nicole’s Place for compassionately caring for Jack in his last days.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his six siblings, and Florence Hall Manchester, his wife of 58 years and the love of his life.

Friends may visit on Sunday, January 24th from 3-8 PM at Lapeer Free Methodist Church. A private service will be held on Monday, January 25th at 11 AM, and will be live-streamed through the Lapeer Free Methodist Church's facebook page. Pastor Bruce Lawton and Pastor Dave Coleman will co-officiate. Jack will be laid to rest at Crestwood Memorial Cemetery in Grand Blanc. Military honors will be performed by the United States Air Force Honor Guard. Arrangements entrusted to Lynch & Sons Funeral Directors in Lapeer.
