Anita Elizabeth Behm, age 70 of Lapeer, passed away on June 29, 2020, in the comforts of her home. Anita was born in Pigeon, MI on May 18, 1950. She graduated from Central Michigan University in 1972. Anita taught for Lapeer Community Schools for 30 years and was a longtime member of Trinity United Methodist Church. Anita was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed.
Anita is survived by her husband Willie Behm; her children Kristy (Matt) Prentiss and Scott (Ashley) Behm; her grandchildren Samantha Behm, Jasmine, Joanna, and Sammy Prentiss, Jayden and Raelynn Richards; two sisters Neila (Dale) Collison and Mary Lou (Robert) Thiel; brothers-in-law Paul (Mick) Behm, George (Florence) Behm, Clare (Barb) Behm, Ross (Debi) Behm, and Dale (Donna) Behm; several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
Anita was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence and Florence Kerr.
A funeral service will be held on July 2, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity United Methodist Church, 1310 N Main Street, Lapeer , MI 48446. Pastor Grant Lobb will officiate. Family and friends may visit on the day of service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Due to capacity restrictions, guests looking to attend will be limited to 100 people max. Masks are required by the church staff and social distancing measures are required. Memorial donations to Trinity United Methodist Church are appreciated.
