WHITTHORNE, Cornelius – Of Flint, age 93, died Tuesday, August 11, 2020.
Private service will be announced later.
Cremation has taken place.
Cornelius was born on November 6, 1926 in Mason, Tennessee the son of the late Tom and Beatrice (Brewer) Whitthorne.
On December 27, 1951 he married Hazel Juanita Belew.
He served honorably as a Combat Vet in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II.
Mr. Whitthorne was owner of Neat Development, Flushing Road Meadows and a trucking company and former owner of Chance Auto.
He retired from GM.
He served as a Trustee for Montrose Township from 1992-1996.
He enjoyed car collecting, hunting, playing cards and loved reading his Bible.
Most of all he enjoyed being a social person.
Surviving are children, Rosheeda I. Whitthorne and Thomas W. Whitthorne;
grandchild, Cornelius Cameron Whitthorne.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Hazel in 2013 and son, Cornelius Stephon Whitthorne, 2015.
