CRAIG, Dorothy Leona (Rossman) – of Davison, MI, age 93, was received by the Lord on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Cremation and inurnment in Evergreen Cemetery have taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Pastor Gregory Timmons I officiating. The family will receive visitors 1-2 PM Saturday, September 30, 2023 at Allen Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Liposarcoma Cancer Research by check payable to “Keck Medicine of USC” with “In memory of Paul Craig – B.E.S.T.” written in the memo line, and send to : USC Advancement Gift Services, 1150 South Olive Street, 25th Floor, Los Angeles, CA 90015.
The eldest of 2 children, Dorothy was born in Flint, MI on March 28, 1930, daughter of the late Earl and Louise (Bahr) Rossman. She was a 1948 graduate of Flint Central High School, and a 1950 graduate of Flint Junior College. Dorothy continued her education at the University of Michigan where she studied accounting. In 1953, she and Ronald Craig were united in marriage. Together, they had 2 children. Dorothy worked as a bookkeeper for Ron Craig Plumbing and Heating, and later for Miller Business Services. In her retirement years, she served as a volunteer for Genesee County Parks and Recreation. As a long-time member, Dorothy was very involved with Hope United Methodist Church. Dorothy belonged to many clubs including her beloved Bishop Sewing, and the Flint Travel Club. She loved to travel and was fortunate to see so much of the world.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Sandra Craig (Tom Sumner); 4 grandchildren, Brett Isham, Brooke Isham (Stephen DeGoosh), Matthew Isham and Jacob Schmitzer (Jennifer); 5 great-grandchildren; sister, Doris Lyerly; niece, Suzan Parada (Vincent); nephew, Bruce Lyerly; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Louise Rossman and her son, Paul Craig.
