Age 89, of Otisville, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, April 15, 2026 with family by her side. A Celebration of Life will take place from 11:00am until 1:00pm on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at Martin Funeral, Cremation & Tribute Services, 1194 East Mt. Morris Road, Mt. Morris, Michigan. The family will be having a time to share memories at 12:45pm for those desiring. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to the Genesee County Humane Society. Janus Evelyn Price was born on September 3, 1936, in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Truxton and Pauline (Ham) Wehrman. Dedicated to bettering herself for her children, Janus obtained her GED from Mott Adult High School in 1976. She worked at Citizens Bank in the trust department for over 20 years before retiring in 2003 to provide care to her mother.
Ensuring her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were cared for and loved was her biggest priority. Her door was always open if her family needed a place to stay. Janus made sure their stomachs were always full by cooking amazing meals, and even baking a delicious pie.
In her free time, Janus enjoyed traveling to see her children and grandchildren. She would visit her daughter, Paula, once a year in Maine, as well as taking a trip to Puerto Rico with her son, William. She also had a profound love for reading, with some of her favorite authors being James Michener and Agatha Christie. She made note in her memory of every book she read, that way she could always recommend a good read, or provide an honest review of a novel if asked. Janus was also skilled in sewing, creating many pieces of clothing for her children on her classic Singer sewing machine. Additionally, she enjoyed unwinding with some movies and television shows, including Big Bang Theory, Fried Green Tomatoes, Blue Bloods, and her favorite family-oriented themed movies. Most of all, she found joy in creating new memories with her family at holidays, birthdays, and other family gatherings. The family she helped create was her true pride and joy.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children: William Price and wife, Shelley, Donald Price, and Paula Price; her 12 grandchildren: Rebecca Brinegar, Donald Price and wife, Deanna, Kristopher Price, William Price and wife, Rachel, Jason Rice and wife, Sara, Rachel Kaminker and husband, David, Trevor Rice, Jeremy Kaplan and wife, Aya, Danielle Ward and husband, Eric, Nicholas Price and wife, Alexandra, Chantz Fanello, Shelby Rowe and husband, Nick; her 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings: Thomas Wehrman, Ina Stice and husband, Roger, and Billy Wehrman; as well as many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Janus was preceded in death by her parents: Truxton and Pauline Wehrman; her siblings: Truxton Wehrman, Arthur Wehrman, Michael Wehrman, Gus Wehrman, and Bonnie Wehrman; as well as her best friend, Arvid Richardson. |
