HANCOCK, Betty Joann - Of Davison, formerly of Flint, age 82, died Monday, April 9, 2018 at McLaren-Lapeer.
Funeral service will be held 1pm Friday April 13, 2018 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Pastor Chris Radcliff officiating. Visitation 1-8pm Thursday and 12 noon Friday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, you may make donations to Lapeer County Medical Care Facility (Suncrest Nursing Home) 1455 Suncrest Dr. Lapeer, MI 48446.
Betty was born in Flint on June 22, 1935, the daughter of Edgar and Della (Jackson) Allison. On May 12, 1956 she married Gerald (Jerry) Hancock. Betty was a homemaker and mother to five fabulous children. She enjoyed cake decorating, candy making, ceramics, catered many weddings for family and close friends. She liked to play cards and games and always was ready for a trip to the casino. Betty especially enjoyed bonding with her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Surviving are husband, Gerald “Jerry”;
children, Rita (Dave) Roach, Russell Hancock, Karen Overfield, Cyndi Lemcke, Linda (Kurt) Procunier;
grandchildren, Jessica Lemcke, Justin (Amber) Lemcke, Jordan (fiance’ Alexis Smeltzer) Procunier, Hillary Procunier, Andrew Roach, Allison (Fiance’ Zachary Thwing) Roach, Haily (Adisson) Willford;
great-grandchildren, Brianna, Ashlynn, Raelynn, Kaitlynn, Taylor, Kylie, Addilyn, and Kinsley;
special cousin, Lyle (Max) Dorr.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers: Clyde, Zeron, John and Valjean, sisters: Gertrude, Virginia, Bonnie and Patricia, father and mother-in-law, James and Helen Hancock, brother and sister-in-laws Barbara and Carl Gray and Donald and Rae Hancock and several nieces and nephews and precious great-granddaughter, Everley Anne Renae Willford in September 2017.
