GILBERT, Carole Ann (Sawyer) – of Burton, MI, age 76, passed away on Saturday, December 12, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital. A Private Burial has taken place at Sunset Hills Cemetery. A Public Memorial Service will be planned for a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be considered to Richfield Church of the Nazarene, in Carole’s memory.
Carole Ann Sawyer was born in Port Arthur, TX on February 10, 1944, daughter of the late Paul and Eva (Schneider) Sawyer. She married the love of her life, Kenneth W. Gilbert, on June 6, 1964. Carole retired as a secretary from American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees. She was a member of Richfield Church of the Nazarene. Carole enjoyed working crossword puzzles and Sudoku.
Carole is survived by her adoring husband of 56 years, Kenneth W. Gilbert; brother, Gary (Jan) Sawyer; 3 nieces, Kelly (Bob) Gruber, Vickie Melton and Taylor LeGrand; nephew, Randy Woolbright; many other loving family members, dear friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul and Eva Sawyer and her sister, Sherry Woolbright.
