TASSON, Cheryl Kay (McDaniel) – of Davison, MI, age 63, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2023 at Hurley Medical Center. Cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Friday, March 31, 2023 Emmanuel Church, 6434 Richfield Road, Flint, MI 48506; Pastor John Scally officiating. There will be one hour of visitation prior to the service on Friday at Emmanuel Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family.
Cheryl was born in Flint, MI on September 12, 1959, daughter of Jean (Smith) McDaniel and the late Richard McDaniel. She was a graduate of Davison High School Class of 1977. Cheryl was employed as a paraprofessional with Davison Community Schools from 1989-2004. She was a member of Elba United Methodist Church and Genesee Star Quilters. Cheryl enjoyed crocheting, arts and crafts, attending her grandchildren’s events and activities and sewing retreats to Port Huron, MI.
Cheryl is survived by 2 children, Stephanie (Jeremy) Mayer and Joseph A. Tasson; 8 grandchildren, Levi Mayer, Zoe Mayer, Grace Mayer, Tristin Mayer, Addison Mayer, Kadence Mayer, Joslyn Mayer and Brielle Tasson; mother, Jean McDaniel; 2 siblings, Scott McDaniel and Annette (Brien) McDaniel-Fox; mother-in-law, Ethel Tasson; sister-in-law, Robyn (Steve) Brisbane; niece, Riley Fox; 2 nephews, Adam Brisbane and Joshua Brisbane; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Richard McDaniel; husband, Joseph R. Tasson; brother, David McDaniel; grandson, Brantley Mayer; niece, Emily Brisbane and father-in-law, Frank Tasson.
