Michael Johnson

Born: 12/6/1946
Died: 6/23/2025
Age: 78
Community: Columbiaville, MI

Go rest high upon that mountain, Mike.

He remains our true center, our rock.

A simple man, true to himself, dedicated to friends and family; a master of Zen.

“MB St John” was an artist of words, color, and wood. He was an encyclopedia extraordinaire. He loved music (Prine, Guy Clark, Dylan, Tom Russell), radio announcers/news, history (Civil War), Tim Hortons, Ficks Market, fishing (thank you, Dale and Greg), and sunrises over the German cemetery.

Michael Johnson was born in Fort Lewis, WA, Dec 6 1946 to William Wayne/Jeanette (Ebert) Johnson. An AF brat with stories to tell of Wisconsin and Texas grandparents. A teacher to all, retiring from Bentley Schools, Burton MI.

He leaves his heart with his wife Donna (forever and always), children: daughter Erin (I love you to the North Star and back) and Michael; son Dave (God Speed, Dad) and Caitlin and those crazy loved grandsons, OwenBoone (Obie), EverReed, and Bodhi Sky. He shares life stories with sisters Linda and Kris (All is well to our Greek god), a family of force of nieces and nephews, dear friends (with whom he fit nicely between the edges and the grooves)and all those Polish cousins that just showed up in his life.

Listen to “Beat You There” by Will Dempsey for us. Then go and enjoy what you enjoy doing. Don’t wait.

In his honor absorb the lyrics to Leader of the Band, Desperado Waiting for a Train, some Dylan, or Desperado by Eagles.

In his memory, go get a Tim Hortons (at 4 AM?!?!) and be a good person who wants to learn.
