BULLY, Ruth Mary. – of Clio, age 89, died Sunday, August 17, 2014 at her residence. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11AM on Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church in Clio. Cremation to follow. Inurnment will be held at Old Calvary Catholic Cemetery at a later date. Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 11AM until 9PM, a Scripture Service will be held at 7PM. Contributions may be made to Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church or the charity of one’s choice.
Ruth was born on April 24, 1925 in Estherville, Iowa to the late Louis and Bertha (Kurtz) Weissert. She graduated in 1943 from St. Mary’s in Mt. Morris. Ruth married Bernard Bully on June 24, 1944 in Mt. Morris. He preceded her in death on April 6, 2005. Ruth was a Charter Member of Saints Charles and Helena Catholic Church. She was also a member of the CCW, Charlie’s Angels and Red Hat Society. Ruth enjoyed playing cards at the Krapohl Center, Thetford Township Senior Center and Vienna Township Senior Center. She also enjoyed gardening, reading, arts & crafts, square dancing and above all, spending time with her loving children, grandchildren and friends.
Surviving are: children; Dorothy (Don) Brasier of IN, Sharon (Don) Aaron, Michael (Elaine) Bully, Rick (Sue) Bully, Dean (Gina) Bully of TN, Gail (Kevin) Davis of OH; 23 grandchildren; 29 great grandchildren; 1 sister, Rita Cherwinski; 3 sisters in law, Yvonne, Gail and Regina. Ruth also leaves behind more friends than you can count. She was preceded in death by her son, David.
