WILLIS, George R. – Of Flint, age 77, died Thursday, February 2, 2023 at McLaren-Flint surrounded by his family.
Cremation has taken place.
Contributions may be made to the Genesee County Humane Society or Adopt-A-Pet, Fenton.
George was born in Philadelphia, Mississippi on December 18, 1945, the son of the late George and Anita Willis. George graduated from Flint Central High School, Class of 1964. On August 29, 1966, he married Linda Statzer. George served in the United States Army in the 25th Infantry Division in Pleiku, Vietnam, where he earned the Purple Heart. He worked at Buick for 42 years. George was known for his dry humor and SARCASM. He had a love for music and an unconditional love for his family.
Surviving are wife, Linda;
sons, Christopher, Corey, Jason (Nicky) and Joseph;
daughter-in-law, Jenni;
grandchildren, Addison, Elyssa, Owen and Kendall;
sister, Brenda (James) Landis;
brother-in-law, Roby (Chris) Statzer;
and many nieces, nephews, and fur babies, Molly and Romeo.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Beverly Sturk.
