Crandall, Mary Louise “Mary-Lou” – of Montrose, age 103, died Sunday, October 16, 2022, surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 11AM on Friday, October 21, 2022, at Montrose United Methodist Church – 158 E. State St, Montrose, MI. Burial to follow at Montrose Twp Cemetery. The family will receive visitors on Thursday from 11AM until 8PM at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Montrose and on Friday from 10AM until time of service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Montrose United Methodist Church.
Mary Lou was born September 27, 1919, in Flint, Michigan, to the late Bert and Nellie (Applebee) Nelson. She married Norman Crandall on April 3, 1937. They had five children together: Norma, Deloris, Nelson “Ray”, Dennis, and Linda. Mary Lou was married on November 23, 1985, to Everett “Sam” Crandall. She worked for AC Sparkplug for 18 years working on the production line. Mary Lou was an avid member of Montrose United Methodist Church. Along with being a member she was active in the church groups and classes. Mary Lou enjoyed being a part of Eastern Stars, Red Hat Society, Montrose Senior Center, and JOB’S daughters. She enjoyed keeping herself busy. Mary Lou loved reading her bible, traveling, sewing, crocheting, playing cards and gardening. You could find her dancing with her heels on in the kitchen. Mary Lou loved her grandchildren more than anything, they were her world. She was very classy and full of laughter. Above all she was an amazing woman who will be dearly missed by many.
Surviving are: Daughters: Norma Coon, Linda Caraway, and Daughter-in-law: Barbara Crandall; 18 Grandchildren; 43 Great Grandchildren; 46 Great Great Grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husbands: Norman Crandall, and Everett "Sam" Crandall; Children: Dennis Crandall, Deloris Menuey, Nelson “Ray” Crandall; Son-in-laws: Charles Coon and Jim Caraway; Siblings: Inez Crandall, and Mildred Lee; Grandchildren: Norman Wright, Daniel Crandall, and Leonard Wright; Great Grandchildren: Eric Krebs and Leland “LJ” Clothier.
