ROMANOWSKI, Jennette Agnes (LaVasseur) – of Sarasota, FL, age 101, passed away Thursday, March 24, 2022 at Sarasota Hospice House in Sarasota, FL. A Funeral Liturgy will be held 6 PM Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Fr. Andrew A. Czajkowski officiating. The family will receive visitors 4-6 PM Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Road, Davison, MI 48423. A Graveside Committal Service will be held 2 PM Friday, April 1, 2022 at New Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4142 Flushing Road, Flint, MI 48504; Deacon Dan Fairweather officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of one’s choice, in Jennette’s memory.
Jennette was born in Pinconning, MI on July 7, 1920, daughter of the late Telix and Amy (Pommerville) LaVasseur. She married Stanley Leo Romanowski on May 4, 1940 and he preceded her in death on March 11, 1996. Jennette retired from General Motors in 1972 after more than 15 years of service. She was a charter member of Holy Redeemer Catholic. Jennette was an avid golfer. She also enjoyed line dancing and snowmobiling at Houghton Lake.
Jennette is survived by 2 children, Gerald (Marilynn) Romanowski and Sharon (Fred) Helmer; 3 grandchildren, Jeri (Brad) Banyas, Gregory (Tina) Helmer and Rod Helmer; 8 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; many other loving family members and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Telix and Amy LaVasseur; husband, Stanley Romanowski; 2 grandsons, Robert Romanowski and Tom Romanowski and 6 siblings.
