LITZBARSKI, Herbert J. – of Flint, age 87, passed away February 5, 2014 at home. A Memorial Service will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. There will be visitation from 10 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Herbert was born in Danzig-Oliva, Prussia on May 12, 1926. He married Anneliese I. Wundrich on August 19, 1950 in Wesseling, Germany and she preceded him in death on January 24, 2010. Herbert worked at AC Spark Plug retiring in 1991 after 34 years of service. He was a member of U.A.W. Local #651, a Charter member and former Commodore of Lake Fenton Sailing Club, Sailing C-Scow LF-4. Herbert was an avid skier and enjoyed woodworking. He especially loved to travel with his wife.
Herbert is survived by his children, Heike (Michael) Forbush, Ute (David) Burton, Ruth Bowles and Walter Litzbarski; grandchildren, James (Pam), Peter, Elyse (Erik), Karen (Adam), Adam (Kristine), Alyssa (Nick), Rebecca (Andre), Brooke, Brent, Sarah and Anneliese; great-grandchildren, Trent, Lucas, Keyara, Draven, Graham, Hope, Cecila and Emily. He was preceded in death by his mother, Luzie Litzbarski.
