STEPHENS, Katharine Katie – of Flint, age 96, died Friday, April 29, 2022 at her home with her family by her side. A private family funeral service will be held and a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Burial in Flint Memorial Park. Memorial contributions can be made to the West Flint Church of the Nazarene.
Katharine was born June 25, 1925 in Humboldt, Tennessee to the late James and Pearl (Privett) Moore. She grew up in Humboldt, Tennessee and attended school there. On February 4, 1950 she married Newton Stephens and he preceded her in death in 2012. Katharine was a member of the West Flint Church of the Nazarene and was very active in the church. She enjoyed crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her dogs, Penny, Oliver and Jasper. However, her greatest joy in life was her family, especially her grandchildren.
Surviving are: Children, Kathy (Ted) Coleman, Karrie (John) Doering; Grandchildren, Christy (Del) Coleman, Scotty (Michelle) Coleman, Kaylea (Nick) Johnston, Meagan (Tom) Doering; Great Grandchildren, Camden Kennedy, Emerson Coleman; Special Nieces, Connie (Bill) Sevener, Janis Folts, Denise (Matt) Foster, Kelsie Foster, Ashlie Foster, ; several extended family, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Parents; Husband, Newton Stephens; Brothers, James Moore, J.T. Moore, J.W. Moore, Lee Moore.
