Marvin Edward Racette, age 88, passed away on June 4, 2023 in Flint, Michigan. Marvin was born in Flint, Michigan, to the late Edward Theodore and Leolea (Schmideknect) Racette.
Marvin was a graduate of St. Michael's Catholic High School in Flint. He was a 40 year employee of General Motors. He was a long-time usher at St. John Vianney Catholic Church. He was a life-long University of Michigan and Detroit Tigers fan. An avid golfer, he made friends with many like-minded "old guys". He enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Marvin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Wilma (Laurin) Racette, daughter Rae Deanne and son-in-law Matthew Curtis, son James Edward and daughter- in- law Darci (Foy) Racette, daughter Jennifer Rivera and Jim Walterhouse, Daughter-in-law Stephanie (Gauthier) Racette . Grandsons Stephen, Timothy and Kyle Higgerson, Matthew, Michael, Nicholas and Jackson Racette, Luke Racette, granddaughter Alexandria Rivera. Ten Great Grandchildren.
Marvin was preceded in death by his son Paul, and grandson Zachary.
Memorial contributions may be made to: St Luke's New Life Center of Flint.
A memorial visitation for Marvin will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023 at 10:00AM at St. John Vianney Catholic Church - 2415 Bagley Street, Flint, MI, followed by funeral mass at 11:00AM
