WALTRIP, Shannon Dale – of Frankenmuth, age 66, answered the Lords Call on July 3, 2014 with family and friends by his side. Funeral services will be held at 11AM Monday, July 7, 2014 at Bible Baptist Church, 6205 Birch Run Rd., Birch Run. Pastor Fred C. Smith officiating. Burial to follow in Flint Memorial Park. Friends may call at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run on Sunday from 2-8PM and at the church on Monday from 10AM until time of services at 11AM. Contributions may be made to the family.
Shannon was born October 25, 1947 in Flint, MI. He married Linda Cunningham on June 24, 1967. He was a member of Bible Baptist Church as Children’s Pastor and also Ambassador Baptist Church for many years. He retired from Flint Truck Assembly on April 1, 2009 after 36 years as a Pipefitter. He enjoyed using his amazing talents for the Lord including Calk talks, Vacation Bible Schools, Church activities, woodworking, oil painting, sketching, but most of all Preaching God’s word to children and adults. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends who he cherished very much.
Surviving are: wife, Linda; daughter, Tina; many cousins, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by: parents, Wade and Colleen Waltrip; and a brother, Robert Waltrip. Please sign our guest book or share an online condolence with the family at www.oguinnfh.com.
