After a valiant fight, Elaine Marie Bainbridge of Grand Blanc succumbed to cancer at her home surrounded by her family on May 6, 2025. Elaine was born on July 10, 1957 to Alberta Ann (Birchmeier) Young and Peter James Young Jr.
Elaine’s gentle kindness will be missed by her husband of 37 years, David Bainbridge II, her sons David (Taylor) Bainbridge III and Scott (Sierra) Bainbridge. Also her mother, Alberta Young, her siblings Delores (Kenneth) Sheldon, Helen Bowen, and James (Carol) Young. Elaine was a loving and devoted Grandmother to her four grandchildren; Myles, Rozlyn, Wyatt, and Deckard.
Elaine was preceded in death by her father, Peter, her mother and father-in-law Evelyn and David Bainbridge I, and her brother-in-law, Pharen Thomas Bowen. Also Elaine’s namesake Elaine Marie Birchmeier who passed away at age one month.
Elaine graduated from Michigan State University in 1979, worked in restaurant management and for an insurance agency, but the job she treasured most was wife and mother.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 am on Friday May 16, 2025 at the Church of the Holy Family, 11804 South Saginaw St., Grand Blanc, Michigan 48439. Visitation will be at 9:00 am until the time of the Mass.
