Don Albert Straugh, 85, of Hillman, passed away on October 11, 2010 at his residence. He was born on October 21, 1924 in Williamston, MI. He married the former Thelma Milligan in 1965 in Pontiac, MI. Don served his country in the US Air Force during WWII. He retired from the United States Postal Service after 40+ yrs of service as a carrier. He has lived in Hillman since 1979 formerly of Waterford, MI. Don enjoyed being a jack of all trades, and was always willing to help anyone out. He loved to work in the woods and drive his tractors.
Don is survived by his wife, Thelma; son, John(Cindy) Ligus of Metamora, MI; daughters, Darlene (Ted) Huff of Alpena, MI, Laura Griffin of Hillman, MI, and Anna McCleary of Fowlerville, MI; 11 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; brother, Paul (Donna) Straugh of CA; and sisters, Helen (Harold) Madison of Lake City, MI, Joyce Preamaux of Lansing, MI; and Mary Jane Jones of WA.
As were his wishes, cremation has taken place and a memorial service for Mr Straugh will be held on Saturday, October 16, 2010 at the Green Funeral Home, Hillman, MI at 11:00 AM.
