RUTHERFORD, Linda K. - Of Davison, age 74, died Saturday, August 19, 2023 at Medilodge of Frankenmuth.
Cremation has taken place and no services will be held.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Hurley Foundation, Organization for Bat Conservation and/or the Flint Cultural Center.
Linda was born in Flint, Michigan on October 13, 1948, the daughter of the late Charles and Therma (Frank) Rutherford and grew up on the south end of Flint. She graduated from Flint Southwestern High School in 1966 and from nursing school at Mott Community College in 1970. She later received her Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Health from U of M Flint. Linda retired from Hurley Medical Center, where she started working as a senior in high school, and continued to work as a volunteer there for many years after retirement. Linda loved to travel, especially to New York City, a city she fell in love with at first sight, to the Jersy Shore (Beach Haven, Long Beach Island) and winters in Punta Gorda, Florida.
She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Therma Rutherford in 2004 and 2009, respectively. She leaves to cherish her memory her babies, Mikey, Ming, Kissie and Lily; her best friends, Sue Kale of Burton, Sue Boyd of Davison, Malcolm MacGregor of Burton and Nash (Skip) Uebelhart of Flint, cousin Sue Martin of Millington, brothers, Walt Rutherford (Mary) and Wayne Rutherford (Diane) both of Genesee Twp. She will also be missed by nieces Melissa Rutherford and Laura Rutherford; nephews Bud, Keith, Michael, and Geoffrey Rutherford; great-niece Kristina Rutherford; great nephews Jason and Andrew Rutherford; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.
