Carl T. Barrick, 86, of Toledo passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2010 at the Advanced Specialty Hospital, South Toledo. Hospitalized since August after heart surgery, complications set in and took him from us. He is now at peace with family and friends who have preceded him in death.

He was born in Toledo to Joseph and Mary Barrick, January 17, 1924. He was preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Carl and 2 sisters. Carl attended Historic St. Patrick’s grade school and graduated from Central Catholic High School in 1942. He was proud to have served his country in the United States Army during WW II from Jan. 1943 through Jan. 1946. He served in the Pacific Islands for 30 months.

Carl was a hard worker for Gateway Trucking, the City of Toledo, and PDS Delivery Service. He retired from Treu House of Munch after 21 years. He loved all sports, especially golf, bowling and baseball. He played lots of cards, mostly Poker. He loved his golf trips to the Carolinas, Georgia and Florida and he dearly loved Notre Dame and The Yankees. Carl was very proud of his Italian Heritage.

Married 64 years to the love of his life, Fay, Carl first saw her at the Trianon Ball Room and said he felt he was “Struck by a Thunderbolt.” He leaves to cherish his memory, sons, Joseph Barrick, William (Karen) Barrick and Anthony Barrick all of Toledo; daughters, Rosemary (Jim) Limongi, Maumee and Carla (Eric) Foster of Sylvania along with 12 grandchildren, 2 of which are twins, Jacob and Luke who he helped raise when he was 70 years of age. He loved all of them dearly and especially, the newest grandson, his little buddy, Blake.

Friends may visit at the Coyle Funeral Home 1770 So Reynolds Road on Wednesday Oct. 27th from 2- 8 p.m. where a Scripture Service will be held at 7 p.m. The funeral will begin in the mortuary Thursday 9:15 a.m. followed by the Funeral Mass in St. Charles Borromeo Church at 10 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
