GRIFFITH, Norman “Jack”- of Burton, age 82, passed away Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at Hurley Medical Center. A Funeral Service will be held 2 PM Sunday, December 23, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423; Rev. Harold K. Polk, Jr. officiating. Cremation will follow the service. Visitation will be 1-8 PM Saturday, December 22, 2018. A Memorial Service under the auspices of the Burton Eagles Aerie 3814 will be held at 5 PM on Saturday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Genesee County.
Norman was born in Jewell, Virginia on January 16, 1936, son of the late Cecil and Gladys (Stevenson) Griffith. He was known as “Farmer Jack”; a gardener who loved to share his crops. Norman enjoyed small engine repair, and ran Jack’s Small Engine Repair for 30 years. He was a guitar player and singer in the “Good Old Boys” band. Norman enjoyed playing euchre and deer hunting. He was a member of the Burton Eagles Aerie 3814 and the Grand Blanc Moose Lodge #2344. Norman retired from GM in 1987 after 30 years of service.
Norman is survived by his wife, Jean; children, Daniel Griffith, Susan (Doug) Giffin, Barbara Griffith, and Scott (Wendy) Griffith; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three siblings. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jeffery Rievera.
