Chris was born July 13, 1955, the son of Joseph and Nora Del Morone. Graduating from Hamady High School, Class of ’73, he entered the workforce at age 17 and moved to the city of Flint.  Chris was a proud member of the UAW working since the early 70’s for General Motors until his retirement in 2013. He was actively involved on many committees for the UAW seeking to represent his fellow workers. He earned an associate degree from Mott Community College and graduated from the University of Michigan-Flint with a bachelor’s in business.

As a proud Flint resident, he always believed in a better future for the city he loved and worked toward Flint’s success his entire life. His civic-minded pursuits included participation in his Mott Park Neighborhood Association, service as a chair and member of the Board of Review of Flint and the Genesee County Land Bank.

Chris was a volunteer for several causes and passionate about one state and one team. A member of the St. John Vianney Catholic Community of Flint, he served as a lector for many years.  He enjoyed volunteering for Special Olympics and the Crim Races over the years, the Traverse City Cherry Festival, and Back to the Bricks.  Of course, Chris was an avid MAIZE and BLUE fan, especially during football season, causing a loving family divide with the more traditional Spartans and cultivating three of the only Ohio-based Wolverine fans. In between football season and long hours on the assembly line, he enjoyed taking in Michigan’s beauty Up North.

He is survived by his mother, Nora Del Morone; sisters, Angela Del Morone, Tina Marie (Mark) Miller, brother Joseph (Jennifer) Del Morone; nephews and nieces, Craig Miller, Eric (Emily) Del Morone, Tyler (Desiree) Notter, Alicia (Alex) Morhaim, Kevin Miller; great nephew, TJ; great nieces, Charlie and Vanessa; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Joseph Del Morone.

Those desiring may make contributions to St. John Vianney Church or School, Special Olympics, or the National Kidney Foundation.
