RUGGLES, Ronald Alger - Of Flint, age 81, died Friday, November 12, 2021.
Funeral service will be held 11am Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Central Church of the Nazarene, 1261 West Bristol Road, Flint.
Pastor Don Phillips officiating.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Church of the Nazarene for the benevolence fund.
Visitation 4-8pm Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint. Visitation 10am Thursday at church until the time of the service.
Ronald was born in Flint, Michigan on September 10, 1940, the son of the late Glenn and Lois Ruggles.
Mr. Ruggles was a longtime member of the Bentley Wesleyan Church that his grandfather founded and Central Church of the Nazarene. He has lived in Michigan and Ohio where he met his wife Irene. They were married in Toledo, Ohio on January 18, 1986. Most of Mr. Ruggles work life was spent in the construction field as a salesperson of tools and equipment and managing warehouses. Ronald enjoyed traveling; flying and hot air balloon rides and was an avid photographer. He was an avid sports fan, especially of the Detroit teams.
Mr. Ruggles is survived by his wife, Irene;
2 children, Teresa (Philip) Raubinger, son Kenneth (Allison) Ruggles;
4 step-children; Robert (Tammy) McVicker; Anne (Robert) Hamm, Joyce (Dan) Searles, Michael McVicker;
13 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren;
brother, Leonard (Sue) Ruggles, and sister Cathy (Wilfred) Carlson;
plus many nieces and nephews.
Ronald was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Barkman and brothers, Norman Ruggles and James Ruggles.
