LaFEAR, John Joseph, of Davison, Michigan, age 72, passed away on Saturday, February 1, 2025. A Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 6, 2025, at Davison Missionary Church, 1481 N. Gale Rd. Davison, Michigan; Pastor Al Yerke officiating. Cremation will take place following the service. The family will receive visitors 4-7 PM on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, Michigan and again on Thursday, one hour prior to the service at church. Memorial contributions may be made to Davison Missionary Church in honor of John.
John LaFear was born in Flint, Michigan, on February 3, 1952, to Nelson and Shirley (Whiteside) LaFear. On June 23, 1973, he married the love of his life, Ann Leslie, in Flint, Michigan. A devoted husband and father, John was a man of deep faith who attended Davison Missionary Church. He found great joy in watching his grandchildren play sports and cherished every moment spent camping, enjoying winters in Florida with his wife, and sharing meals with family and close friends. An avid outdoorsman, he loved fishing, golfing, and simply being surrounded by nature. He also had a knack for fixing things, always ready to lend a helping hand. John dedicated many years of hard work as a machinist for GM before retiring. In his free time, he enjoyed watching sports and car races, always appreciating the excitement of the game. Above all, he was a dependable and loving man, deeply devoted to his family and the people he held dear.
John is survived by his loving wife, Ann LaFear; children: Aimee (Chris) LaFear and Nicolas (Hellena) LaFear; grandchildren: Ayden, Beau, Lidiann and Nicolas; sister, JoAnne (Kathy) LaFear; sister-in-law, Peggy (Dale) Rohrbeck; many other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by both parents, and grandmother, Eva Loucks.
