SOMERS, Marguerite L. – Of Davison, age 85, died Thursday, December 25, 2014 at McLaren-Flint.
Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Pastor Ed Borycz officiating.
Burial in Flint Memorial Park.
Visitation 1-8 p.m. Monday and 9 a.m. Tuesday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Marguerite was born in Flint, Michigan on August 17, 1929,
daughter of the late Elmo and Maude (Hatt) Bostwick.
She was instrumental in setting up Crossroads Village. She was a published journalist and writer.
Mrs. Somers worked in the Genesee County Soil Conservation District.
She was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
She was an avid Tigers fan, loved to play cards, avid reader and loved history and genealogy.
She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and sister.
Surviving are one daughter, Menda Somers;
three sons, Scott (Lori), Matthew (Sue) and Marc (Teresa);
nine grandchildren;
five great-grandchildren;
niece, Carol Schroeder;
many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
