TURNER, Zane R. – Of Clio, age 83, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at Heartland Healthcare Center-Briarwood.
Funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Davison Assembly of God, 1234 South Gale Road, Davison, Pastor Morris Moos officiating, followed by a military service.
Burial 10:00 a.m. Friday, December 18, 2015 at Flint Memorial Park.
Those desiring may make contributions to Davison Assembly of God.
Visitation 5-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1-3 and 5-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Zane will be at the church from 2 p.m. Thursday until the time of the service.
Zane was born in Haverill, Massachusetts on October 29, 1932, the son of the late Homer and Jeanette (Pickard) Turner.
Zane served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1954.
He was a founding member of Davison Assembly of God.
Mr. Turner retired from General Motors Buick Motor Division after 42 years of service and was a member of UAW Local #599.
Surviving are wife, Katy;
seven children, Robert (Debra),
Gary (Renee),
Bonnie O’Neal,
Tom (Sherry),
Steve (Neoma),
Lisa (Kevin) Gaby and
Kellie LaDuke;
30 grandchildren;
18 great-grandchildren;
Zane was one of 12 siblings;
several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and his dog, Duke.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Mary Lou; daughter, Jill Snider; several brothers and sisters.
