LANDON, James C. Jr. “Jimmy”, age 73, of Grand Blanc, MI, peacefully entered the presence of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday April 3, 2023, at the Michigan Veterans Home of Chesterfield Township.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1pm Saturday, April 8, 2023, at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road, Flint, MI

Pastor Dave Kemp officiating.

Visitation 11am Saturday until the time of the service at the funeral home.

Contributions may be made to the Michigan Veterans Home at Chesterfield.

James was born in Flint Michigan on March 18, 1950. The son of James C. Landon and Etta Mae Landon (Bone). James Graduated from Flint Southwestern High School. James proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, serving in the Vietnam war. After honorable discharge he married the love of his life Elaine (Gardner) on February 19, 1971, in Flint, Michigan.

Jimmy was an avid fan of Michigan State Spartan sports teams and enjoyed watching and talking about Spartan teams with his friends and family. Jimmy was a devoted follower of Jesus Christ, as such he lived his faith by serving others.

Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and his sister Shelly Landon. He is survived by his wife Elaine Landon (Gardner), sister Linda (Mike) Chandler, sons James III (Michele) Landon, Thomas (Regina) Landon, grandchildren, James IV (Tasha) Landon, Lindsey Landon, Connor Landon, Taylor Landon, Julianna Landon, great granddaughters, Ryleeann Landon, and Lillian Landon, many nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks and recognition to the staff at the Michigan Veterans Home of Chesterfield Township, who did their very best to make Jimmy’s last days peaceful.

Burial in Great Lakes National Cemetery in Holly Michigan at a later date.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. 14For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him…18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.
