Edward John Allen
Age 90 of Corunna passed away on Saturday, December 15, 2018.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 18, 2018 at Nelson-House Funeral Homes New Lothrop Chapel. Burial will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends that day from 9:30am until the service.
Edward was born on August 14, 1928 to Clyde and Zaidee (Champion) Allen in Lansing. He graduated from Flushing High School before attending Michigan State University for Agriculture Short Courses. Edward married Stella Mae Smith in March 1949 in Flushing.
Edward was a lifelong dairy and cash crop farmer. He also worked as a Bus Driver/ Supervisor for New Lothrop Public Schools. Edward was a very hard worker all his life, and he put his family first in everything. He enjoyed golfing, bowling, gardening, and reading. He was also a member of the Masons.
Edward is survived by his children, Nancy (Randy) Long, Ken (Joanne) Allen, Sandra (Dan) Husted, and Don Allen; his 7 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; his brother, Keith Allen; his sister, Dorothy Warren; his brother-in-law, Lyle Smith; as well as many nieces and nephews.
He is predeceased by his wife, Stella Allen; his daughter-in-law, Mary Allen; his sister, Margie Weathers; and his great-grandson, Dane Alan Carnell III.
