ZOLTAK, Heidi – of Davison, age 45, passed away January 9, 2018 at home. A Gathering will be held 4-7 PM Friday, January 12, 2018 at Allen Funeral Home, 9136 Davison Rd., Davison, MI 48423. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mucosal Melanoma Research Foundation or to the family for the Chase’s education.
Heidi was born on January 28, 1972 in Annapolis, Maryland. She lived in New York, Virginia, and Maryland; but primarily, she was a Michigander. Heidi graduated from Laingsburg High and spent the majority of her life in the Flint area, living with her family for the past 20 years in Davison. Heidi received an Associate’s Degree in Marketing, which she utilized throughout her career.
Heidi is the mother of three children: Logan Brown (Marissa), McKenzie Brown and Chase Zoltak. In 1998, Heidi met the love of her life, Chris Zoltak, who became her husband in November of 2002. In addition to these loves, she leaves behind her parents: Richard and Teresa Calkins; a sister: Kristin McNamara and her brother, Alex Calkins. Others left to remember and cherish the memory of Heidi are her nieces: Layne and Addison and her nephew, Owen; many aunts, uncles, cousins, colleagues and friends. Two who will miss her sound and touch are her two fur babies: Guinness and Kona.
Heidi loved working and enjoyed McLaren Hospital, The Flint Journal and her latest position at Women to Women Magazine. She was in her element when she was able to market and sell. Heidi’s personality allowed her to excel at building and maintaining relationships, customer service, marketing and writing.
For fun, Heidi engaged in jet skiing, hitting the beach, yoga and spending time with her family, friends and colleagues. Throughout her life, but especially towards the end of life, Heidi connected with everyone, here and abroad, through the written word, photos and blog updates. She has touched and been touched by so many.
