SIMONI, MARGHERITA – Of age 91, died Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at Maple Place.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, August 22, 2023 at Holy Family Church, 11824 South Saginaw, Grand Blanc, MI, Father Leronio Vodivodi officiating.
Entombment to follow at Crestwood Cemetery.
Private visitation will be held.
Those desiring may make contributions to the Humane Society or the American Cancer Society.
Additional visitation 9 a.m. Tuesday at church until the time of the Mass.
Margherita was born in Villa Santo Steffano, Italy on July 3, 1932, the daughter of the late Augusto and Maria (Polombo) Toppetta.
On January 7, 1954, she married Mario Simoni and he preceded her in death on March 26, 2018.
Margherita loved cooking Italian meals for family and friends and was the best homemaker.
She also loved gardening, planting flowers and her furry friends.
Most of all she loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Faith was her utmost importance.
Surviving are sons, Frank (Sheri) Simoni, Jerry (Selina) Simoni, Sergio (and special companion and caregiver to Margherita, Joyce Snider) Simoni;
grandchildren, Mario (Katherine) Simoni, Alaina (Michael) James, Sonnie (Justin) Fister, and Kylee (James) Dakki;
great-grandchildren, Rocco James, Romley James, Jackson Fister, Archer Dakki and Bradly Fister;
and special friends, Elizabeth and Randy Petrides.
The family would like to extend their appreciation to the outstanding staff of the Maple Place Assisted Living of Grand Blanc for their wonderful care.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lelo Toppetta and Gino Toppetta; sisters, Josaphine Carlini and America Colini.
