Harley Rueben Spiekerman, age 95, of Merrill, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 at the Roosevelt House Assisted Living in Hemlock.
Harley was born May 30, 1927, in Spokane, Washington, the son of Arthur and Frances (Sommers) Spiekerman. He graduated from Saginaw High School. Harley married Bonnie Jean Lokinski on September 16, 1950. He served in the National Guard during WWII and was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler. Harley worked as a mechanic for General Motors but his passion was farming. He was a kind, generous man, that would help anyone in need. Harley loved spending time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children Gary Spiekerman, Paul (Jayne) Spiekerman, Jill (Phil) Bonham, daughter-in-law Venessa Spiekerman, seven grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, sister Verna (Wallace) Bringold and many nieces and nephews.
Harley was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Bonnie, son Dale Spiekerman and siblings Eunice, Charles, Ramon, Glenn, Verne, Ina and Ida.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at 11 am at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Wheeler with Pastor Michael Podeszwa officiating. Interment will be in East Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Saginaw. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Lux and Whiting Funeral Chapel, Breckenridge.
