Church, Gerald “Jerry” - of Clio, age 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his residence surrounded by family. Funeral services will be held at 3PM on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Jim Garfield officiating. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday from 11AM until the time of service at 3PM. The family welcomes you to share your favorite memory of you and Jerry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made on Jerry's behalf to Karmanos Cancer Institute or My Brother's Keeper Veterans Program.
Jerry was born September 12, 1947, to the late Langdon and Annalpha (Higgins) Church. He attended Mandeville School in Flint, graduating with the class of 1965. Jerry married Marie on September 12, 2016, before that they were together for 25 years. He served as a U.S. Marine during the Vietnam War from 1969-1970. Jerry owned and operated Jerry's Wrecking and Excavating and Jerry's Manufactured Home Removal. He ran both businesses for 32 years before retiring in 2015. He loved watching his western shows. Jerry enjoyed hunting in Barton City and snowmobiling in the U.P. He loved his family more than anything and will be greatly missed by many.
Surviving are: Children: Chris (Dannette) Church, Tammy (John) Coccia, and Shelly Noblin; Grandchildren: Jessika, Gabrielle, Dominique, Travis, Matt and Rebecca; Great grandson, Mason; Mother and father in law: Rick and Louise Powell; Siblings: Jim (Cheryl), Ron (Sandy), Shirley (Dick), Lynn, and Ethel; In laws: John (Darla), Carolyn, Ray (Sherry) and David (Jolene); Many special nieces and nephews; Best friend, Ron Reed. He was preceded in death by siblings: Myrt, Ken (Janet), Barb, Louie, John, and Will. The family extends a special thank you to Dr. Perez, Dr. Chambers, Karmanos Cancer Institute, and McLaren Hospice.
