Robert "Bob" Jay Zendler, Sr., age 88, passed away on July 12, 2021 in Fenton, Michigan. Bob was born on September 30, 1932 to the late Phillip and Minnie Zendler in Flint, Michigan. He graduated from Flint Central High School and received his Associates Degree from the Flint Junior College. On August 14, 1954 in Flint, Michigan, Bob married the love of his life Sally Gresham. Together they created a life full of love and commitment to others. Bob was involved in business and finance as a local banker. He was an avid hunter and sportsman throughout his life. After his retirement, he and his wife Sally owned a dry cleaning business for many years. Bob was a member of the Flint Central Church of the Nazarene. He found his greatest love and passion serving others and being a part of the Brown Funeral Home family; where he faithfully served for over 20 years. He was a wonderfully caring and empathetic man, he will be deeply missed. Bob is survived by his sons, Dr. Robert J. (Katie) Zendler II and Dr. John W. (Deborah Clemens) Zendler; grandchildren: Dr. Nicholas (Dr. Jessica) Zendler, Andrew (Kristen) Zendler, Joshua Zendler, Jack Plasters, Peter Plasters; great grandchildren: Marie Zendler, Maelyn Zendler, Annabelle Zendler; daughter-in-law, Melissa Zendler; sister-in-law, Pam (Jack) McCarthy; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Sally Zendler and his grandsons, Robert "RJ" Jay Zendler, III and Brent Zendler. Funeral service will be held on Friday, July 16, 2021 at 12pm with two hours of visitation prior to the service at Brown Funeral Home - 1480 E. Hill Road, Grand Blanc, Michigan. Interment will follow at Sunset Hills Cemetery. Those desiring may make memorial contributions to Flint Central Church of the Nazarene in memory of Bob. |
