Judy M. (Hawn) Sutter of Oakley passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at her home peacefully surrounded by her family. She was 78 years of age
Judy was born in Owosso on October 25, 1943, the daughter of Theodore Herman and Marie B. (Swan) Hawn. Judy is a graduate of Chesaning Union High School. She was united in marriage to Charles E. Sutter Jr. on July 29, 1961, at the former Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Chesaning (now St. Peter Parish). They were married for almost 60 years before he died on May 31, 2021.
Mrs. Sutter was a bus driver, starting in 1972, with Chesaning Union Schools and retired in 2010. She also had driven bus in Owosso for S.A.T.A. for six years. She was a longtime member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help/St. Peter Parish Church. Judy was a proud member of the Mid-Michigan Old Gas Tractor Association (M.M.O.G.T.A.) and started their T-Shirt Shack in 1986. In the beginning years, she sold the T-Shirts from the trunk of her Ford Bronco, assisted by her family. She enjoyed traveling to Florida with her husband, Charlie, playing Bingo with her girlfriends, and camping. Most of all, Judy loved being with her family, especially all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and attending all their sports and school activities.
Judy is survived by her children, Rick (Marie) Sutter of Brant, Carla (Greg) Wendling of New Lothrop, and Randy Sutter of Chesaning; grandchildren, Mellissa (Joe) Grammatico of Brant, Rick Sutter Jr. of Owosso, Lindsay (Gregory) Deneen of New Lothrop, Courtney (Jacob) Buck of St. Charles, Austin Powelson of Oakley, Dakota Sutter of Chesaning, and Shyanne Sutter of Chesaning; great-grandchildren, Gianna, Salvatore, and Isabella Grammatico, and Jack Deneen; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and gobs of friends. She is also preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Herman Hawn.
A private graveside service will be held later at Resurrection Cemetery of Chesaning. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. Memorial contributions may be given to the wishes of the family. You may light a memorial candle or share a memory at misiukfuneralhome.com.
