Jim was born in Flint, MI on March 6, 1948, son of the late John & Tracy (Skinner) Jacques. He was a Kearsley High School graduate. Jim married the love of his life Ilona “Lonnie” Farkas May 20, 1967, in Flint. They spent more than 57 happy years together. He was a dedicated employee with GM for over 35 years, serving as a truck driver, UAW committee man and EAP representative. Jim also worked as a welder, for extra income. He also served as Richfield Township Supervisor for 12 years, spearheading the plans to build a fire station. Jim was a hard-working volunteer for Genesee County Fair, serving as a board member for many years and was an active member of the Genesee Valley Tractor Club. He was especially fond of his John Deere tractor. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing. He loved to be on Lake Michigan fishing for salmon. Of all his hobbies, he found his greatest joy in spending time with family. He especially enjoyed coaching his sons in their Elba Little League, and attending all of their sporting events.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Lonnie Jacques; brother, John Jacques; daughter-in-law, Janette Jacques; sister-in-law, Andrea (Jim) Doyle; brother-in-law, Paul Farkas; many nieces, nephews
and friends. In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sons, James Jacques, Jr. and Richard Jacques; brother, Dick Harmon; his mother and father-in-law, John and Dresby Farkas; and brother-in-law, Greg Farkas.
Lonnie wishes to extend a heartfelt thank you to Boyd and Linda Skellenger for their love, care and concern before, during and after the family’s time of loss.
