Munsell, Eugene “Gene” – of Clio, age 86, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at his residence. Funeral services will take place Thursday, February 22, 2024, at the O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio. Pastor Jim Watson to officiate. Burial will follow to Sunset Hills Cemetery in Flushing. The family will receive visitors on Wednesday from 2PM until 8PM at the funeral home, and on Thursday from 10AM until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Morris Church of Christ.



Eugene was born October 30, 1937, in Burt, Michigan, to the late Clyde and Mariza (Skutt) Munsell. After graduating from Beecher High School in 1956, he tied the knot with Joyce on June 22, 1957, marking the beginning of a beautiful journey together. His career spanned 40 years at General Motors as a skilled tool and die maker until his retirement in 1996.

As a dedicated member of Mt. Morris Church of Christ, Eugene found joy in contributing to various organizations, including the Boy Scouts of America and the Eastern Michigan Woodworkers Association, where he served as president. Known for his woodworking mastery, he shared his passion through teaching and creating intricate pieces. Eugene's love for collecting antique hand tools and indulging in a game of Euchre showcased his vibrant and adventurous spirit. He lived his life to the fullest, finding joy in all things mechanical and never hesitating to lend a helping hand to fix just about anything.



Surviving are: Children: Tammy (Tom) Allan, Mike (Dana) Munsell, Jeff (Kim) Munsell, and Matt (Diana) Munsell; Grandchildren: Mike (Staci Lanford) Allen, Beau Munsell, Buck (Madi) Munsell, Alisha Ferguson, Shayanne (Sean) McFarland, Coty Munsell, Jacobe Munsell, and Jesse (Ashley Mantei) Munsell; He was blessed with 10 great grandchildren: Natylea, Ahlisya, Benny, Rhyse, Ellison, Layne, Claire, Pailsey, Stetson, Rosin; Many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in passing by his loving wife, Joyce Munsell; Son, Timmy Munsell; Granddaughter, Sarah Munsell; Brother, Truman Munsell; Sisters: Barb Kellogg, Juanita Moody, and Sherry Burton.
