HODGE, Louise Frances – Of Flint, age 89, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Swartz Funeral Home, 1225 West Hill Road.
Burial in Crestwood Cemetery.
Visitation 12-8 p.m. Sunday and 11 a.m. Monday until the time of the service at the funeral home.
Louise was born in Flint, Michigan on April 7, 1926, the daughter of Elmer and Lenora (Pariso) Hall and was a resident of Flint.
Louise married Kenneth Hodge on August 20, 1941 in Flint. They enjoyed 73 years together and had 12 children.
She enjoyed square dancing, traveling, camping and enjoyed family gatherings, cookouts and was considered a mother figure to many.
Surviving are daughters, Francene Cooper, Deborah (Thomas Huneycutt) Craven,
Linda (Medford) Cady;
Suzanne Carr, Alice (John Gough) Foster,
Janise (Dan) Jurgens, Karrie (Ken) Platt and
daughter-in-law, Rena Hodge;
sons, Patrick (Peggy) Hodge;
John (Beverly) Hodge and
Michael (Kitrinka) Hodge;
She is survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren;
Three sisters, Shirley (Norm) Howard,
Donna (Vern) Albert and Barbara (Ivan) Petroski.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; two children, Kenneth Daniel (Mary) Hodge and Karl Lee Hodge; two grandsons, Kenneth Huneycutt and Tony McKinzie; one great-grandson, Nicholas Arntz; three brothers and one sister; son-in-law, Ricky Carr.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Wounded Warriors.
