PETRICK, David J. – Of Grand Blanc, age 67, passed away Thursday, May 7, 2026 at his residence.
Memorial visitation will be on Friday, May 15 from 1-4pm at Swartz funeral home in Grand Blanc. Memorial contributions can be made to the Kidney foundation and Michigan Human Society.
David was born in Flint, MI on July 15, 1958, the son of John and Eleanor Petrick. He graduated from Grand Blanc High Scool in 1976. He worked at General Motors for many years.
David loved to fish and snowmobile and to spend time with his family and his dog "Donkey." He even did classes with Donkey to get her certified as a therepy dog so he could help people.
David was always quick to smile and make a funny comment. He enjoyed racing slot cars. He was always generous and involved with his grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
He is survived by his sister Terri Nichols and her husband Bob, brother Rob Petrick and wife Diana, and brother Mike Petrick. Also his daughter Kim Smith and her husband Gary, grandchildren Gabrielle and Stephen Smith, brother in law Jim Gurney, and his nephews Joe Nichols and GioVanni Petrick and nieces Julie Nichols and Dr. Evan Gurney, plus aunts and uncles and cousins.
Predeceased by his father and mother, John and Eleanor Petrick and sister Joann Gurney.
