Sally A. Rousseau

Linwood, MI

Sally Ann Rousseau, 78, passed away on July 25, 2022, at MyMichigan Medical Center surrounded by family. Sally was born in Saginaw, Michigan on October 21, 1943, to the late Arthur Collison and Louise (Lange) Collison. She was a 1961 graduate of Arthur Hill High School. She married her soulmate, Robert “Bobbie” Rousseau on August 19, 1963, and have been inseparable for just shy of 59 years; to this day, Bob still refers to Sal as his “bride”, and always will. Bob and Sal started their family in Saginaw where Sally was a devoted wife, mother, and homemaker. They resided in Saginaw until they bought a house in Linwood, Michigan on Saginaw Bay.

There was never a day you couldn’t walk into their home and not smell a home-cooked meal or fresh baked goods. Sal will be remembered for her iconic fish fries, cut out and peanut butter cookies, angel food cakes, and homemade French fries - with the most important ingredient being her love. Sally enjoyed visiting with friends and family, meeting with her Red Hat’s, swimming at the local YMCA, and her favorite pastime of shopping at Macy’s. One of Sally’s many talents was sewing. She took pattern making classes at Delta College where her work would shine through with her creative Halloween costumes. Generous, caring, and kind are just a few of the words that come to mind when people think of Sally.

She is survived by her husband, Robert, of Linwood, her daughters, Cheryl (Steven) Robb, of Midland, and Jeanette Rousseau, of Flint. Her grandchildren; Alexandria Robb (Trent Elliott), Katarina DuMont (Nicholas Sears), Michael Robb, and adopted grandson, Jacob Coppy. Her sister; Emma Jean Davis of Mayville, her sisters-in-law, Michelle Dubrulle and Betty Collison of Saginaw, and daughter-in-law, Patricia DuMont of Adrian. Sally also leaves behind many family members and friends that she touched throughout her life. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Jodi (Rousseau) DuMont; her siblings, Mary Lou Chasnis, Arthur Collison, Charles Collison, Frank (Duke) Collision; and in-laws, William and Thelma Rousseau, William and Suzanne Rousseau, and Thomas Rousseau, as well as a host of other family and friends.
