MILLER, Marian Lee – of Clio, age 70, died Monday, November 19, 2018 at Kith Haven in Flint, Michigan. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, November 23, 2018 at O’Guinn Family Funeral Home in Clio, Michigan. The family will receive visitors from 11:00 AM until time of service at 2:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Genesee County Humane Society.
Marian was born February 5, 1948 in Flint, Michigan to Thomas and Shirley (Palmatier) Bates Sr. She grew up in Flint and attended Flint South Western High School. On May 16, 1984 she married Robert Miller in Flint, Michigan. Marian was a member of the Rock and Gem club in Clio. She enjoyed gardening, flowers, frogs, dogs, and ducks. Marian also liked to feed and watch the birds. She was fondly called Duck by her husband and they enjoyed going out to eat together. They also liked to fish and go to the casino.
Surviving are: Mother, Shirley (Bates) Kelly; Daughter, Theresa Lynn (Welch) Crang; Grandchildren, Tiffiany Brown, Mariah Villarreal; Great Grandchild, Amiliono Georges; Siblings, Julie (Scott) Shifflett, Douglas “Buzz” Bates; Sister in law, Kim Bates; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her Father, Thomas Bates Sr.; Husband, Robert Miller; Daughter, Kimberley J. Bates; Step Daughter, Melody Strickland; Brothers, Thomas Bates Jr., Brian Bates.
