REECE, Arlyn R. – of Millington, age 87, passed away peacefully on Monday, September 7, 2026, at Wellspring of Frankenmuth. Honoring his wishes, cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Arlyn’s Life will be held on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, from 3PM until 7PM at the O'Guinn Family Funeral Home in Birch Run. Visitation will pause briefly at 4:30PM for Military Honors and will resume immediately following the ceremony until 7 PM.
Arlyn was born a twin on June 26, 1939, in Alpena, Michigan, to the late Merritt and Violet (Gusler) Reece. He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and served honorably while stationed in Germany and France. On May 2, 1963, Arlyn married the love of his life, Patricia “Pat” Malmberg. Together, they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage filled with love and laughter before Pat’s passing on December 18, 2025. Pat was truly the center of Arlyn’s life, and he missed her deeply. Arlyn retired from General Motors with over 30 years of service. He was a talented and hardworking man who took great pride in the home he built from the ground up and the many projects he completed over the years. One of his greatest accomplishments was fully restoring his pride and joy, a 1948 Ford. Arlyn was also an avid puzzler and enjoyed keeping his mind busy. He was always willing to lend a hand, especially when his sons had a home project, and he enjoyed passing along his knowledge and expertise. Above all, he cherished time spent with his family and especially enjoyed being with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Sons: Michael (Shellie) Reece, Steve (Debbie) Reece and Ron (Jennifer) Reece; Grandchildren: Candi (David) Franzel, Tarah (Josh) Worley, Tony (Andrea) Reece, Nicole Nickens, Rachel (Jacob) Fahrenbruch, Shane Nickens, Kyle Reece and Brian Reece; Great-grandchildren: Max and Julia Worley; Sister, Dixie Reece-Snyder; Several nieces, nephews, other family members and dear friends.
