CASHIN, John – of Flint, age 80, passed away December 1, 2020 at McLaren Medical Center, Flint. A Private Graveside Service was held in New Calvary Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Davison Knights of Columbus Council #4090 or Flint Holy Rosary Catholic Church.
John was born in Flint, Michigan on January 29, 1940, the only child of Myrtle Alice and Nicholas Donald Cashin, who preceded him in death. He married Patricia Ann Peel on April 15, 1966. They were married 54 years and had 6 daughters. He graduated from Kearsley High School and served in the US Army National Guard then proudly graduated from Michigan State University. He spent most of his working years in computer systems for General Motors, ultimately retiring from EDS. Over the years he enjoyed charitable work with Knights of Columbus. John was an avid bowler, he enjoyed bowling in leagues for over 50 years and passed that love onto his children. As a sports enthusiast, enjoyed attending sporting events for his daughters and 12 grandchildren.
John is survived by wife, Patricia (Peel) Cashin; daughters, Theresa (Cashin) and Murray Bolen, Sandra (Cashin-Windle) and Chad Stong, Diane (Cashin) and Clarence Gipson, Meredith (Cashin) and Geoff Dorow, Corinne (Cashin) and Sam Dworkin, Kimberly Cashin and Eric Campbell; grandchildren, Jennifer (Bolen) and Jason Torres, Nicole Bolen, Melissa and Abbey Windle, Bailey and Lindsay Gipson, Jacob and Hannah Dorow, Brady and Dylan Dworkin, and Emerson and Jack Campbell; great-grandsons, Finn Szappon and Jaxon Pointer (Torres); along with many other loving family and friends.
