Lewis, David P. – of Flushing, age 67, died Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Henry Ford Hospital in Detroit. A celebration of life dinner will be held at 4:00 PM, Saturday, April 8, 2017, at Bella Birches – 606 N. McKinley Rd. in Flushing.
David was born December 30, 1949, in Flint, Michigan to the late James and Thelma (Mabry). He was a graduate Southwestern High School in Flint. David was a U.S. Army, Vietnam War veteran. He married Linda Breor on February 26, 1977. He retired from GM's Fisher Body and Buick Motor Divisions with 30 years of service. David enjoyed woodworking, hunting, and fishing, small engine repair, and poker. He also enjoyed working on cars with his daughters and building his log cabin. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family and was very active with his grandchildren.
Surviving are: Wife, Linda; 3 Daughters: Kimberly Lewis of Mio, Meredith (Jason) Brandt of Freeland and Melinda (Trevor) Burgess of Flushing; 7 grandchildren: Hanna, Elena, Ty, Allison, Cole, Preston, and Orion; Sister, Virginia Lewis; 2 brothers: Tom and John Lewis; Brothers and sisters in law; Several nieces and nephews.
